Maybelline Matte and Poreless Review

photo 1-1

So this winter Maybelline has come out with several new products that are keeping up with popular makeup trends. This season, there has been a big focus on matte lips, eyes, and now face. So when I found out Maybelline was coming out with a matte formula of their original Fit Me products I could not wait to try them out!

I picked up the Matte and Poreless Fit Me Foundation in the shade 120 which matches me perfectly. The formula is a bit thick but very easy to blend out, and provides a medium buildable coverage. There is also no SPF which I tend to prefer in a foundation. Once I applied this, it left my skin looking even and flawless but still natural. I can’t say that it did anything for my pores, but I don’t really see that as an issue for my skin anyways. The bigger test was if it stayed true to its matte claims…and yes! I did not look oily throughout the day or even through a workout! Downside: this foundation is not super long-wearing, it fades gradually, and by the day I didn’t have as much coverage. I did find when I tried this again with Mac Fix+ this foundation was much more long-wearing. While this is an extra step, it doesn’t stop me from reaching for this foundation because the finish looks perfect!

I also picked up the Fit Me Matte and Poreless translucent powder. This is a light setting powder that leaves my skin smooth and shine free. While it doesn’t leave my skin super matte as say the BareMinerals Mineral Veil is does prevent me from getting oily during the day. I recently picked up the MUFE HD translucent powder and I will returning it because this gives me the same results at a fraction of the cost!

Overall, I’ve started to include both of these products into my everyday makeup routine. I think they live up to there claims of being matte and poreless pretty well considering they are drugstore products. They are definitely worth checking out and range from about $6-$9 depending on the drugstore.

Let me know what other new drugstore products I should try out!
