Allure Sample Society Review May 2015

Sample Society is a $15 monthly beauty subscription box which features favorites from Allure Magazine and BeautyBar.com. This box normally features deluxe samples ranging from drugstore to high end.

The May Box:

This month’s box features larger samples than last month and contains two skincare products, two hair care products, a perfume, and a lip product. I would say it is a definite success!

Skincare Products:

Both of these are products I’ve received in previous beauty boxes! The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is an overnight hydrating mask that locks in moisture as you sleep. This is sold at Target and I find that this works wonders on dull/dry skin. I use this when I’m too lazy to go through my full nighttime skincare routine and it leaves your skin looking just a glowy as if you used a million serums and lotions. The Avene Thermal Spring Water is a mineralized water that works similar to a toner by soothing sensitive skin. This could come in handy during the summer, for days spent in the sun.

Haircare products:

The John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7 Day In Shower Treatment is a gel applied  and rinsed out in the shower to create fullness lasting up to five shampoos. Volume is not a problem with my hair but I will try this out since it contains Keratin which helps strengthen hair. The Alterna Caviar Repair Spray uses biotin and vitamin E to protect your hair from heat damage. I was most excited about this product because this is a high end hair brand that has always worked wonders for my hair. I’ve used a different heat protectant from Alterna before that has helped my hair so I have high hopes for this!

Perfume and Lip Product:

The Versace Eros Pour Femme Perfume contains notes of jasmine, peony, amber, and musk. I’m obsessed with the men’s version of this perfume so I’m happy to finally try out their more feminine scent. The Julep Lip Gloss in Graceful is a good everyday color, I actually have way too many nude glosses in my collection and hardly any pinks so this works well for me!

Overall, this month’s box is excellent! It contains some great staples for summer and has a much higher value than my April box. What did you think of the May Sample Society box?
