Spring is just around the corner, and it’s bringing a slew of new trends that I can’t wait to get my hands on. Every magazine, online article, and celebrity sighting has me bursting with anticipation to fill my closet to the brim with the latest styles. But as any fashionista knows, these things take time. So while I’m waiting to find the perfect fit for each new trend, I figured my time was well spent sharing them so that you could do the same.
Take a look at a few of these styles that you’ll want to have ready when the warm weather strikes.
Bold Dresses
As much as you might love your pastels, this isn’t the year for easing into the spring season. Actually, 2016 trends seem to be skipping the typical timeframe for spring colors entirely and diving right into the bold shades of summer. Instead of wearing robin’s egg blues and pale lavenders, fill your closet with the boldest citrus shades and blindingly bright whites you can find.
If you take a look at the different designer dresses presented on Lyst, you can see how many have avoided the passive, uber-feminine hues and opted for stronger and unapologetic shades of oranges, yellows, greens, and royal blues. Choose any style that complements your shape, and you can’t go wrong.
A New Spin on Flats
After a night spent running around in heels, nothing feels better than a comfy pair of flats. Thankfully slipper shoes, otherwise known as flat mules, are expected to be popular styles for the spring. Elle recently reported that the style has spread among spring fashion show lines from Trademark, Alexander Wang, Victoria Beckham, and Edun.
These comfy flats look best in suedes of different shades, animal prints, and leathers of all colors. Typically, they don’t complement dresses and skirts well, so to help them look their best, try pairing them with a straight, relaxed pant leg, bootcut or boyfriend jeans, or a pair of shorts.
Rejuvenating Hairstyles
Of course your new seasonal look wouldn’t be complete without a new haircut. According to Harper’s Bazaar, there are a few standout styles that can help give you the new, fresh, and fashionable look perfect for spring.
If you have short hair, try piece-y layers, bluntly razored ends, or textured waves. If you have medium-length hair, use your chin as a guide to separate your hair into two layers or as a guiding point where you can create a fun, wavy bend. For long hair, try weighted curls or a whole head of wide curls. You can also try straightening your hair, keeping it all one length, or a face-framing cut that can soften your look.
Let the countdown begin ladies! There’s only a few weeks left of winter, so start collecting these trends before the warm weather hits!

I love the idea of those sandals. It’s like fancier flip flops, which I am all for. I would love those with either a bow or flower on top!
